Mumbai Attacks

It is an act of terrorism and whoever does is must be condemned. No words can ever be enough to condemn the horror of what has happened in Mumbai.


Armed militants captured various major places of Mumbai late Wednesday, November 26th, the trade centre of Indian state of Maharashtra. Over 175 people, including foreigners, were killed and hundreds wounded in Mumbai mayhem. Five key police officers were also killed in these attacks. The armed militants took several people hostage at many places including the hotels of Taj Mahal and Oberoi. This is being termed as a terrorist activity of horrendous proportions in Indian.



Deccan Mujahideen has accepted the responsibility of the attacks and it made various demands including freedom of Hyderabad Deccan etc and Indian media has been accusing Pakistan before any inquiry or investigation.



Indian authorities and media start blaming Pakistan whenever any terror incident takes place there. Pakistan has itself been a victim of terrorism and it stands with India in this testing times. After mumbai blast the Indian media has been doing propaganda against Pakistan and this is not good for the relationship of both countries India and Pakistan.


































India has been up against three distinct types of militancy: Left-wing extremist, separatist and religious. Left-wing extremist groups that have engaged in terrorist activity include People’s Guerrilla Army, People’s War Group, Moist Communist Centre, Communist Party of India-Maoist and Communist Party of India Janashakti. In Assam, there are at least 35 known separatist groups. In Manipur, there’s the People’s Liberation Army. In Meghalava, there’s the People’s Liberation Front of Meghalava. Nagaland has at least three known insurgent entities; Punjab has 12, Tripura has 30 and Mizoram has 2. Then there’s Arunachal Dragon Force in Arunachal Pradesh.


Samjhauta Express, the whole Indian media had blamed Pakistan for that and after some investigation the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad has claimed that a serving Army officer Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit, who was arrested in connection with the Malegaon blast, was also involved in 2007 Samjhauta blast. The ATS told the court that the accused had used RDX to carry out the blast in which 68 people mostly Pakistanis were killed. It maintained that Army RDX was used and not sourced from across the border.



The Indian government is making baseless charges on Pakistan for the Mumbai attacks. This has all the hallmarks of a Hindu terrorist operation. The way the top three Indian cops including ATS chief Karkare were killed swiftly while investigating the Malegoan blasts. The timing of the attack when the BJP, VHS and RSS were under scrutiny for their involvement in the recent terrorist attacks in India. The sophistication of the operation which implies that these terrorists had immense local backing and resources. The picture of the alleged terrorist who had Gujrati physical features and wore red yellow strings (a sign of Hindu ritual) on his right hand. All these and more tell us that this indeed is a local Hindu terrorist operation. Pakistan has no benefit to gain from this specially at a time when we ourselves are victims of terrorism when we ourselves are victims of terrorism.





Indian media & Government officials should not put allegations over Pakistan without providing evidence or declaring any evidence, could be their internal situation !! as they are about to have elections and could be one of the reasons for the opposition to hurt the moral of the current government to rule it for next 5 years.

US Presidential Election Of 2008

The United States presidential election of 2008, held on Tuesday November 4, 2008, is the 56th consecutive quadrennial United States presidential election and will select the President and the Vice President of the United States. The Republican Party has nominated John McCain, the senior United States Senator from Arizona as its nominee; the Democratic Party has nominated Barack Obama.

Barack Hussain Obama (born 1961) is the junior United States Senator from Illinois and presidential nominee of the Democratic party in the 2008 United States presidential election. Obama is the first African American to be nominated for president by a major political party. While John McCain (born 1936) is the senior United States Senator from Arizona and presidential nominee of the Republican Party in the 2008 United States presidential election.McCain graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958 and if he wins he’ll be the 2^nd president after Jimmy Carter who graduated from US Navel Academy.

It is the first time in history that the two main opponents in the general election are both sitting Senators. Therefore, it appears virtually certain that the 2008 election will mark the first time since the election of John F. Kennedy in 1960 that a sitting Senator will be elected President of the United States, and only the third time ever in American history, after John F. Kennedy and Warren G. Harding.

Either candidate would become the first president born outside the Continental United States, as Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and McCain was born at Coco Solo, Panama Canal Zone, a US naval base. A bipartisan legal review agreed that McCain is a natural-born citizen of the United States, a constitutional requirement to become president. Obama, having a white mother and Kenyan father of the Luo ethnic group would be the first president to be black and to be biracial. McCain would be the first president from Arizona, while Obama would be the third president elected from Illinois. The last candidates to run from these states were Adlai Stevenson (D) of Illinois, who ran and lost in 1952 and 1956, and Barry Goldwater (R) of Arizona, who ran and lost in 1964. While being elected from Illinois, Obama would become the first president from Hawaii, his home state by birth. If Obama wins, he'll be the 15th democratic president and 27^th lawyer to become president of United States of America, Senator Joseph Biden, would be the first Roman Catholic vice president. If McCain wins, he'll be the 20th republican president and Sarah palin will be the 1^st women vice president.

Also, if inaugurated on January 20, 2009, McCain would be the oldest U.S. president upon ascension to the presidency at age 72 years and 144 days, and the second-oldest president to be inaugurated. Barack Obama and John McCain are 24 years and 340 days apart in age. This is the largest age disparity between the two major party presidential candidates, surpassing Bill Clinton and Bob Dole (23 years and 28 days apart in age) who ran against each other in 1996.

It is concluded that either McCain or Obama would become the president, it will not only impact the whole united states but also all over the world.

Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt

Former Test cricketer Ijaz Butt has been appointed as Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board on 7th October, 2008.

Mohammed Ijaz Butt (born March 10, 1938, Sialkot, Pakistan) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in just 8 Tests from 1959 to 1962. He also has played 67 First-class matches and scored more than 3000 runs to his name.

Butt, who is a well-known businessman and a former Harvard student, brings with him rich experience of running business and cricket affairs.

Ijaz, who faces a tough task to convince foreign teams to tour Pakistan, hopes international cricket will return to Pakistan as soon as the security situation in the country improves.

Most international teams have refused to honor their commitment and tour Pakistan, which means the Board has lost a sizeable amount of revenue which it could have generated by hosting series against different countries through sale of TV and marketing rights. Ijaz Butt has vowed to bring Pakistan cricket back on track.

Pakistan's next assignment is a home series against India. Butt will have to act fast if Pakistan is to give their neighbors a good run for their money.

Dirk Kuyt - The Kop Hero

Liverpool gave notice of their title credentials with a remarkable 3-2 victory at home to Wigan.

Rafa Benitez's comeback kings did it again after twice coming from behind to secure a 3-2 victory over Wigan. Dirk Kuyt hit two goals, including a dramatic winner with just five minutes to go, to see off Steve Bruce's plucky side.

Albert Riera also bagged his first Liverpool strike on a day when Wigan's Amr Zaki caused havoc in the Reds defence with a fine brace.

The game's other flashpoint came on 74 minutes when Antonio Valencia received a second yellow for a late tackle on Xabi Alonso.

Benitez's men now go into next weekend's top of the table clash at Stamford Bridge level on points with Chelsea, who beat Middlesbrough 5-0.

Wigan's reputation as a brutish side masks the fact that, under Bruce, they play without fear or worry regardless of the opposition. The addition of the Egyptian Zaki has added a touch of class which means they don't always have to park a metaphorical bus.

And so it was today, when for 80 minutes they held their own against a Liverpool side enjoying their equal best start to a Premier League campaign.

It took an expert tackle from Jamie Carragher in the home box to thwart the visitors with less than five minutes on the clock, while Olivier Kapo forced a smart save from Pepe Reina midway inside the first half.

As the drizzle swept across Anfield, the hosts were restricted to a long range effort from Alonso and a solitary one-on-one for Robbie Keane after a sublime throughball from Riera. Sadly, the Irishman could only dink wide with the outside of his right boot.

Shortly after, with 29 minutes on the Anfield scoreboard, Wigan's endeavour paid dividends, albeit in fortunate circumstances when Agger, making his first league start for 13 months, was too presumptuous in collecting Reina's short pass.

If there was one player he didn't want to see on his shoulder ready to pounce on any loose control it was Wigan's lucky number 13, Zaki, who stole a march on the Dane before slotting past Reina.

If Liverpool were to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign, they'd have to come from behind for fifth time this season.

No problem. It took just eight minutes for the Reds to draw level with a goal scored by Kuyt but created almost entirely by the seemingly redeemed Agger.

There looked to be little on when the centre-back embarked on one of his trademark surges forward, but a neat ball from Riera saw him gain possession in the box, where a canny piece of skill created enough space to deliver a low cross to Kuyt, whose bumbled shot found its way beyond Chris Kirkland.

The goal was Kuyt's third in consecutive games, a feat not previously achieved since he arrived from the De Kuip Stadium in 2006.

Liverpool almost took the lead twice before Alan Wiley called time on the opening period, first when Kuyt thundered a long-range shot against the crossbar, then when Riera glanced a header across the face of goal from a Jermaine Pennant cross.

Then, just as it seemed Gerrard and co were in the ascendency, Anfield was stunned by a goal of the month certainty. We were two minutes into injury time when the highly-rated Valencia swept in a cross which Zaki hit acrobatically home.

The second period began promisingly enough when an Alonso floater was met by the head of Agger only for Lee Cattermole to clear off the line.

Next Kuyt missed a golden opportunity to level, hitting straight at Kirkland from six yards after a Keane cross.

Liverpool were starting to ask serious questions, though it wasn't yet all out attack from the Premier League's comeback kings.

Gerrard came close with a 20-yard free-kick which took an age to take due to squabbling over the proximity of Wigan's wall.

The home cause was aided somewhat on 74 minutes when referee Wiley flashed a second yellow at Valencia for a clumsy challenge on Alonso, making him the third player to be sent off for a tackle on the Spaniard in as many league games.

Benitez, meanwhile, introduced Yossi Benayoun and Nabil El Zhar, the latter having been praised for his contribution to that late, late comeback against Middlesbrough earlier in the campaign.

Incredibly, the young Moroccan again made an instant impact from the bench, cutting back for Riera to slam home from 20 yards with 10 minutes remaining.

Surely Liverpool couldn't do it again? Yes they could.

Gerrard, Torres and Carragher have all made heroes of themselves in recent months with last-gasp goals. This time it was Kuyt who took the glory, firing a Pennant delivery against the ground and into the top corner on 85 minutes.

A player who two weeks ago hadn't scored a league goal in 11 months now had three in two games.
